“I’ve always found that the beach fixes everything!!!” Taking a summer stroll on the beach with the fresh ocean breeze running through your hair and sand sifting through your toes, helps bring a little bliss into your life and clear a space for new opportunities. There is nothing more freeing than throwing on your bikini, hopping on a catamaran or a boogie board and crashing through the waves. So I wanted to bring a little beach bliss into my everyday living and this is one little arts and craft project I decided to do and share with you, my beach theme bath set.
Create this unique beach theme dollar store bath decor 🏝 for house and home by upcycling some everyday dollar store finds. Just follow the simple how to step by step directions below.
To begin, I really love finding bargains at the Dollar Tree for only $1.25 so you can add your own special touch to them to make them match your own personal style and create a one of a kind house and home decoration.
Here’s the step by step tutorial to create this beach theme bath set.
You will need these supplies:
🏝 Soap pump
🏝 Soap dish
🏝 Toothbrush Holder
🏝 Dollar store paint
🏝 Clear nail polish
You can also expand this list by adding sea shells, sea glass or whatever “floats your boat” to embellish and enhance these items.
Simply clean the 3 bath items with plain white vinegar and rinse with water to remove any oil and dirt for a good clean foundation.
Then decide on your color palette for painting the items. For this beach color combination I used turquoise, gold metallic, cobalt blue, peacock blue, navy blue and a sand beige tone from The Dollar Tree or Dollarama. To create the royal blue paint color at the far right end I mixed navy blue with the lighter blues. You can mix and match your paint colors to create your own unique custom palette that reflects the beach tones and water tones you prefer.
Apply the sandy beige paint towards the bottom as the sand using a medium width brush in a light wave pattern. Then apply some gold as well blending as you wish. Next apply the cooler blue tones from turquoise to mid blue paints to the darker blue paints, blending spontaneously to create a harmonious abstract pattern and wave like variation. Use your power of inspiration and mold your creative imagination to create your own divine decor. You can be as creative as you like at this stage.
Apply 3 coats to each item to ensure a well balanced coverage. Then let stand for 24 – 48 hours until completely dry to the touch.
For the final coats and protection apply 2 coats of clear nail polish allowing 5-6 hours drying time between coats.
